Berkshire 40

Freightliner dash display is out. I have pulled the access panel the cat7 cable is plugged in. Only issue I see is the other end of the cat7 cable the light is orange and not green like on a modem. Any ideas? Year of coach 2020.

yea sorry sometimes I move fast, when I asked the engineers the dash itself comes from Freightliner, I believe it came out of a Mercedes SL class. Not sure if the screen is dead or if they can give a process to reset.

I'm working on verifying but there is a recall on the Viper Module. If it goes bad the digital display goes out.

i know that others have posted they had issue with it freezing on them... when it comes to chassis issues, I would always follow up with the 1-800 guys as they usually will start a paper trail on there end.

A few years back there was a recall on the main wiring harness because of issues like this...

I was in Maine at the time (my gauges all froze on my trip up there)...

The Freightliner service center in Bangor worked for two days trying to resolve the issue and then they discovered the recall.... They ordered the entire replacement harness (the harness under the dash & the harness under the controls to the left if the steering wheel)

Once that was done I never had dash issues again...

Here’s the problem: I either had a white wire harness and they switched to a new black one OR vice versa!!! I can’t remember - sorry....
