I have back problems (ruptured disc and spinal fusion) and I purchased a lumbar support pillow. It helps my back and moves me forward just enough so that everything is within reach.

I agree with you about the steering wheel. Another issue is that I have already fallen twice coming out of the back bathroom because I'm not used to a split level. My rheumatologist told me in 2000 that I'd be in a wheelchair in ten years. Just hope that the Berk doesn't hasten it. Aging surely throws a lot of curve balls at yuh. lol Might have to put a large printed note there. Would prefer having those side cameras to be on the side of coach instead of the mirrors too.

I sat in the XLT Seats and I think your wish has been granted Cajun. Very comfortable and roomy!

You do know that they are telescoping as well. Not a lot but the wheel does move a couple of inches.

We ordered our 38A through MHSRV.
The brochure said "Passenger 360 degree swivel and recline seat with footrest". Well, our passenger seat doesn't have a footrest. (electric or manual). So the dealership and I contacted FR about it. We were told in an email: "sorry, that was a misprint" and "that is why we have a disclaimer on our brouchures"

So I guess a purchase of better seats is in our future too. I too have a bad back so that footrest would have been really nice while traveling. Oh well. I guess next time we are in Elkhart we will look into getting better seats.

The brochure also said "Sound bar with radio, integrated sub and bluetooth". Well our sound bar doesn't have a radio. Again we were told (in the email about the seats) "the sound bar is another misprint but it is a much better quality that our previous sound bar". (I don't know how that helps me if I want to listen to the radio).

Sounds like FR needs to hire a proof reader or keep a better eye on the company that prints their brochures!

Karen,
Your dvd player in the cabinet under the sound bar should have a built in radio tuner. If you turn on the dvd player, there should be an option that allows you select the tuner which will play through the sound bar- providing FR didn't go with a cheaper model that doesn't have the radio.

I did not know that. I'll have to check it out.
At about 5'10" I wish the seat was more forward.
Maybe I can get the steering wheel a little closer.

Doesn't help Nickie much at about 5' even.
She does want to drive if we can work it out so she can reach the pedals.

Hi Tom and Margaret,
Thanks for the info. I will have to look. Although, I don't know how half of that stuff works. My idea of technical is "honey, the computer won't go on". I told Rick he can NEVER die because I don't know how to turn on the DVD player! Thank God for my husband!!
(but I can drive our big 'ole MH so all is right with the world!)

Dan, little foot peddle next to base of steering wheel. Depress and pull steering wheel back...then let off pedal to lock in place.

Rich, that's the pedal I use to 'tilt' the wheel.
Same pedal also does the 'telescoping'?

Sorry Dan, misread it. No telescoping.

It does on mine. Yours doesn't? Mine is a 2011.

Driving long distances, it's easier to keep the arms closer together in the 11 and 1 position for me. Checked at factory, but they won't change d/t liabilities. Could probably machine something, but it's not intolerable, just would be more comfortable with a couple of inches closer. That being said, I've driven 8-10 hours and not been too fatigued. Coach is a blast to drive.

Rich.

Sorry it took a bit to get back-- lunch with friends.

Ok. I'm vertically challenged too. So what I did was to loosen the four nuts that hold the seat. Set the seat out on the floor. Drilled new holes in the seat plate & reinstall 2 or 3 inch back.

Now I backed mine up enough the the back two bolts didn't hit the plate. They are just behind the plate.

I added a large washer on each back bolt and tightened them up. So the front two bolts have new holes and the back two are wedged with the washers. So my seat don't go back as far but will go 3" closer to the steering wheel.
