Berkshire Handrail Light Mod
I read a modification thread which added a LED light inside of the Berkshire outside entry handrail. I liked it and purchased the light to install. I pulled the handrail and found the two (2) required wires beneath the lower attachment. I fished the wires out and connected the light. I hit the step light switch and nothing..... I hit the porch light and nothing......
I tested the light and it worked.
Any advisements on what is incorrect?
Thanks,
Fred Hardy

I believe it works off the "isle switch". I did the same mod, but I can't remember the name of the switch that works it.

I just went check mine. It is the Aisle switch that operates the door handle light.

Success! It's funny how things work when you use the right switch!

I know someone did this mod a few months ago and put up a link for the light on Amazon. Can someone repost the link ? Don't remember who it was.

Mine has a light in it already. Are you adding one or changing it to led? Or is mine led ?

Want to add one as it did not come with one, but maybe I should double check. They are available at Amazon but now cannot find the link.

I did it this spring using the info from the thread you referenced in your next post.
Very easy mod and the handrail looks much better at night!

For some reason it appears that the 2014 models didn't come with the light installed.

X2 on the 2011 390RB coming WITH the light already installed
I wouldn't be surprised to find that on small items like that, they just put on whatever the stock room happens to hand out to the installer. And the stock room guy just grabs the closest one on the shelf.
boowho??
