Brake Release squeak

I am getting a significant squeak coming from my right front brake but only after I stop and release the brakes to start moving forward again. No noise while stopping. Left side all quiet. Is there any adjustment or something I can do to stop it?

It would be a good idea to remove hub/drum and make sure no shoe hardware has come loose or broken.

Also a good time to apply a SMALL amount of lube at all the points the brake shoes contact and slide back and forth on the backing plate.

Auto Parts sell small tubes called "Brake Lube" but plain White Lube has been used since the beginning of modern drum brakes.

If the shoes can't move freely they won't release. Also put a small amount on end of shoes that contact the actuator cam at the 12 O'clock position.

I thought most Berkshires had disk front breaks?

Sorry, missed that. Mobile app doesn't have prominent sub forum title.

When disc brakes do this it's often the caliper being sticky on it's sliding surface either "rails" in the support of guide pins.

Another Disc brake characteristic is the wear indicator that's designed to make noise under light application.

Regardless, it deserves a good inspection.
