Can anyone explain where the water is leaking from.

The plywood seems to be working like a sponge. Again no watermarks on ceiling or walls. No strange water stains on the outside of the coach either.

We got home and I got my ladder out. Again looked at the roof and everything seems sealed. With the slide out I looked under the slide cover at the top of the slide. All looks normal. On the 2nd pic you can see where the paint has been rubbed telling me that the rubber seal on the slide is tight against the coach. The 3rd picture is showing you the dripping water from one of the screws.

The screw in front of the drip is rusted and has had water running in it also. At least it looks that way. I had a leak in the skylight and would have never guessed it from the caulking but I put a fresh coat on it and no more leak.

I opened the emergency window. (Just to let everybody know it's hinged at the top - Murphey's law dictates the window would fall out and break lol!!!).

I can understand water getting in but the wood is so damp there would seem to be a lot of water. And this is a horizontal surface. It would have to be a driving rain to get in this much water. However this seems like the only place. I'm baffled. But it's getting in somewhere.

I still think it is the window leaking.
It could not be a bottom of slide leak and make it's way up to the window.
The window is the highest point you have identified water/wetness.

I had a window leak on my last class C around the window rubber trim one rainy day.
It did not even look like it from the outside, but I was surprised how much water came in.

I'm going with Phil, I had a water in the top cabinet above the driver's seat. I went up on the roof a few times to check the caulking but it always looked in tact. Until onetime when I got down on my hands and knees up there and noticed a very small section where the caulking lifted off the roof. It was only about an inch long but it was in an area that pools a little water. I repaired the caulk and it never leaked again.

Above that bunk slide on the roof there is a vent for the frig, Water pools there also, not much water but enough to cause a leak. I would check that area.

I had this same problem on my 5th wheel air conditioner. The AC was not properly torqued to the roof and after a few months started leaking. The seal had to be replaced (NOT RE-TORQUED) as dirt gets under the foam seal surface and it will no longer seal properly.

A properly torqued unit will have the yellow tabs just touch the roof (evenly at all tabs). If they are crushed or not touching the roof you will eventually get a leaker.

I know you are not close to FR but if you have a trip planed that way FR can pressurize the MH and they go around it with some kind of spray. If it is leaking it will show up. They did mine and find a problem above the drivers seat that I wasn't aware of.

Interesting. I didn't know they could do that. I'm temporally un-employed so if the dealer can't figure it out - a trip to FR may be in my future.

Herk,
The Dometic AC's in our Berkshires don't have the yellow tabs on them. I believe that they bolts need to be torqued to .5 ft lbs for proper torque.

Thanks, the tabs may be specific to Coleman, but the issue of proper EVEN torque on the through screws is critical to a waterproof seal.

Update on leak. Dealer said the slide is not leaking. It appears the water is coming from the vicinity of the washing machine.

Dealer can't get it repaired before our 10 trip we leave for on Friday. I said that was ok. I'll probably use it this summer then bring it back to the dealer in the fall. He said he'd find and stop the leak before our trip.

Dealer said the slide will most likely need to be removed and carpet replaced and mold cleaned up.

i have noticed this also on my last trip, regarding water on the bottom of the drivers window. where did you caulk? the outside or inside?

Mine is not leaking up front but rather on the bunk slide. Maybe someone else could chime in on your leak.

Tater, seeing you are past warrenty, recommend you take it someplace that has experience with removing the slide. Where are yougetting it fixed?

For what it's worth, I just had a leak in my '15 Berk XL 40BH. The carpet under the wardrobe was damp and I discovered it was a small leak on the backside of the hot water heater under the washer/dryer cabinet. It only leaked when the heater switch was on (Atwood Tankless). Strange but I determined that the control valve assembly that fires up the gas also must then allow water thru. The leak was on the hot water exit side and just the brass fitting needed to be tightened.

This could explain your wet carpet but not up the side of the bunk bed.

Water leak solved-hopefully. The dealer said the lower trim piece on the bunk side was the problem. The water would run down the slide and get between the trim piece and the slide and then in the coach. I said it seemed like a manufacture issue. They called FR and FR said it was a maintenance issue.????

This is the trim piece I'm talking about.

We had a leak, found it to be the lower (for better words) rain gutter that is about 3 inches below the roof line. When it rained, water would run off the roof on to the gutter and then would come in above the drivers side window. Once we resealed the top of the gutter, no more water. We have given up on the dealer in Caynon City, they caused more problems then solved.
