Your fuel filter numbers are

Fuel Filter Primary Fleetguard FF 5632,

Fuel Water Seperator Alliance ABP-N122 R50419

As mentioned you should probably have them changed and get a spare set to carry.

There is a switch on the dash that will jump the coach and diesel batteries. Hold that and try to start the generator again. It should have the juice the turn over.

You might want to get a bottle of diesel clean from wallmart and add it to the tank. This will clean up the fuel and may help you out.

Wow! Thanks everyone for your help here! (Generator started today, once the batteries showed 12.9v...long story on that, so I'll save it for another thread)

I was able to get a new filter at a truck service center. Minor miracle that they had the right part! It was slightly shorter, but cross-referenced to my original part number.

I also added a bottle of Power Service fuel treatment.

After that, we drove a 100 miles or so, and everything was fine. We parked for the night, and the water warning came back on the next morning on startup. :-( Probably the water settling overnight. There was nothing I could do at the time, so we drove on another 150-200 miles today. Each time I started, we got the same warning. I stopped in the Cummins dealer looking for a new filter, but they didn't have one in stock. The service manager and a service tech were kind enough to check it out, pull the engine codes and give me some advice. They felt like I should be ok to get back home, then get some more filters and use up or drain the fuel. They also said that at this point I should possibly get a new sensor while I'm at it.

Seems to be running ok...never de-rated or slowed down.

Thanks for everyone's help! Huge relief to be able to post on here, and have answers back in a few short minutes! I hope to be as helpful to others.

One more suggestion to all the good ones so far. From the water separator, drain into a clear container about 16 oz. let sit for awhile. The diesel should float to the top and if you still have water, you should see through the side of the glass, a separation between the diesel and water, with the water at the bottom.

I would recommend putting Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer as soon as possible. A 32 oz bottle will treat 320 gallons. I would up the formula a little maybe about what they recommend as for storage for a while. You mentioned it has been sitting. It sounds like the fuel could be bad. Good luck....

Hey, guy..... Hope you took it in the spirit in which it was given!!!

That being said, I am fond of razzing guys with these MONSTER pickups with the remark - "if your vehicle doesn't have air horns, and it doesn't go SWOOSH when you step on the brakes, then you ain't playing with the big dogs" !!!!!

Again, playful fun..... BTW I take it as good as I give it.
