Circumvent Denver

I will be on I-25 in Raton NM, and will be heading northbound for I-76 eastbound. I was looking for a way to avoid the traffic in the Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver area, so I am considering getting off I-25 at Trinidad CO, and taking RT 350 EB towards Timpas/La Junta CO, then take RT 71 North all the way to Brush CO, where I will then pickup I-76 EB.

Has anybody traveled this route recently? Any problems/construction issues? Any fuel stops along the way where I can get the coach in and out without problems if I need diesel?

Advice from anyone who has travelled this route would be appreciated.

driven up I-25 many times from Pueblo without a problem, try to time your time thru Denver on a weekend after 10AM.

suggestion: Take I-25 to south end of Colorado Springs, get off on Markshuffle and follow it around to 24 and take to Limon. then take 71 to Bush.

where is your final destination? we live in Pueblo and driven up to Limon many times. there is not much traffic at all between Raton and Colorado Springs. some times so wind between Trinidad and Pueblo

Loves truck stop north end of Pueblo

Thanks for the info. We are heading to the Milwaukee area from northern AZ. Need to be there quickly, so timing it through the Denver area may not work. I have been through that area before, and just wanted to avoid traffic which seems to pickup from Pueblo northward. We have used the E-470 toll rd before.
Thanks again.

Look at google maps. We took the following to MN this year.

Pueblo to Limon, (hate Denver traffic too) I-25 to Colorado Springs, then highway 24 to Limon
Limon to Saldia (I-70)
Saldia to York NB on highway 81 (was a nice 4 lane highway all the way to I-80)

Cut out all the Denver mess and heard it cost a bunch for motorhomes on E-470 if you are towing a toad. We worked in Colorado Springs for years and commuted from Pueblo. The traffic from CS to Denver is a mess.
