I am thinking about redoing the closet we do not need to hang our clothes up we need more shelves. I was thinking about putting wire shelves with the standards bolted to the back wall. My question is has anyone drilled through the back closet wall and installed toggle bolts through the back closet wall? How much depth is there between the back of the closet wall and the back of the coach end cap?
Just an update for anyone thinking of adding shelves in the bedroom closet I do not think the back wall will support the shelves. The wall has a ¼ inch piece of plywood and then about 1 ½ of foam and then another piece of ¼ plywood.
You could always construct shelves, taking the load all the way to the floor. This could be done by basically building a freestanding shelving unit and placing it in the closet. Or you could use a 'hutch' if you already have the floorspace spoken for. I would then plan on fixing it to either the floor or the side walls ( or both! ) in the closet to stabilize it when driving down the road. I like the idea and may do something similar myself. It wouldn't be a bad idea to look for a small chest of drawers or bookcase to put in there, which may save time and money.
We converted one of our wardrobe closet in our past trailer by placing a wire drawer unit in the closet, worked well, the drawers were 10 inch deep, it was nice to slide it out to get what you needed. My husband secured it was a couple small screws.

I like this method.. I would check Target or Ikea for a stand alone unit that would fit the space and match your tastes for color and decor. The screws that run to the wall would mearly hold it in place and would not have to bear any real weight..
