Why not just take the fan off the hub and install an electric fan?

According to Silver the new hub installed in his is a four bolt hub. So not sure what the 4 bolt verse 5 bolt is all about.

OC I have looked at different options and none of them are cheap or easy to install. I'm not able to do the work myself.

Before I put the latches on my hatch I was going to but hex nuts for the hatch so it would be easier to remove. Mine had phillips and were a bear and as you say stripped out as well as undercoated. Were just as bad the second time.

I believe a 12 point socket will fit. They use a 12 point because more torque can be applied to a smaller diameter, this according to Wik.

Vince you are right. It's obvious once someone tells you. LOL. I really didn't need to even check. The bolts might break but I'm positive that they are tight. Thanks for clearing that up.

Don't think I said it was cheap or easy, but it sure would be cheaper than a fan going thru a radiator and more.

The entire discussion is based in a guy having a fan fail. As far as we can tell there were some "bad" fan hubs in some FL early XCR chassis. Mostly 08 and 09. I would rather know the the issue was addressed by 2010 when my chassis was made. If in fact the hub on mine is bad I would do the aftermarket hub. It's just a lot to spend if I don't have to.
On the other hand an after market hub can give better HP and MPG numbers. It's a good suggestion just an expensive one. Maybe a short term unsecured loan? Didn't think so. I wouldn't loan me money either.

I'm swapping my Phillips screws out for hex head bolts now. I have no idea how they can be SO tight, even after they've been in and out a few times.
But my Phillips heads are pretty chewed up.
Once you know how, getting the panel up is a piece of pie.
Boowho??

Guys, guys.... I did the cake/pie thing just for fun. Anyone watch the older NCIC with the Israeli girl that always screwed up like "couch onion" instead of "couch potato".
Or the show where she said the "guy was on the goat" then quickly corrected herself "on the sheep" and Dinozo says "on the lam".
That sorta thing.
I KNOW it's actually "piece of cake". But WTH, I caused 1 or 2 to smile.
Boowho??

OK, so I finally got to take some pics of my fan hub. I'm assuming the bolts that caused the problem are the four holding the fan to the "red thingy".
Am I correct?? And is the four bolt unit the newer one??
Boowho??
