Forest River Service
Just wanted to say how great Randy and all the people in desiel are. They repaired several things on my Berkshire and all seems well. It took sometime to get it all finished, postponing our trip to Florida till after Christmas but it's well worth it. Jim

I love a happy ending
That's great news. I often get burned out reading about problems folks are having. It's always good to see a positive post. I know I'm happy I bought FR.

Sylvie are you freezing up there? It's time to head south. Grab Mike and get down to Florida. We leave as soon as the fat man drops off the presents. How's Mike doing?

Randy and crew
All, As far as I'm concerned you can't beat the team at 1800 West Hively Avenue. Good Luck

After having many disappointing serves experiences with the dealer through which we purchased our Berkshire 390RB60, I contacted Randy & Mitch at Forest River. We are in the process of setting a service date in Elkhart Indiana. Randy & team have been extremely supportive in dealing with any issues and reasserting my belief that we did purchase the best in Class Motorhome. Cudo's to Randy, Mitch and the whole Forest River team.

If you'll be staying there overnight, make sure you go to the Essenhaus Amish style Inn/Restaurant. One of the best (and most filling) meals that I've ever had. Glad to hear that you're having a good experience with the FR factory crew. They have never failed to deliver results when I've been there.

Thanks for the information Rich, we will likely be there for a couple of nights, we have had some paint finish issues. Our present plans would be to arrive Sunday evening, that will give them Monday & Tuesday to fix things up, then Tuesday we should be on our way.
If you can recommend a decent motel/hotel in the close proximity it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Actually, they have an Inn at Essenhaus and according to trip advisor ratings, it's pretty good. I haven't stayed there myself. I googled directions and it is about 25 minutes from the factory. You could also check with Randy when you make your appointment.

I know there is a new chain type hotel just up the road 5 minutes from the factory. I can't remember the name but randy will know.

There is a Holiday Inn Express less than a mile south.
Not crazy about it, but got my rig in and out of the parking lot easy enough.

To get from the diesel plant to Das Essenhaus, which is in Middlebury:
- Turn right out of the diesel plant on West Hively.
- Go two blocks to Hwy 19 and turn left (south).
- Go about 1 mile south on 19 and cross the overpass at U.S. 20.
- As soon as you cross the overpass turn left (east) on U.S. 20.
- Go about 15 miles to Middlebury. Das Essenhaus will be on your left at a traffic light just a short distance past Northridge High School (also on your left).
As someone mentioned, Das Essenhaus also has a great hotel. About a mile and a half further east on 20, at the intersection of Highway 13, there's a fairly new Hampton Inn & Suites on the right.

If you want a great hamburger take HWY 19 north 3 or 4 mile thru town cross over the toll road about a mile on your right hand side. The Flippin Cow restaurant. There is also Martin Market just north of toll road on the left. They have all kind of deli items. Great sandwiches.
I agree that Essenhaus in Middlebury is one of the best places around there for food.
East of Middlebury on north side of HWY 20 (out in the country) is an Amish bakery. Worth a stop.
Probably some motels there at north end of town by the toll road along with the food places I mentioned too. Never stayed there-always had an RV.
