Update
Forest River replaced my Generation 1 water heater with the Generation 2 water heater.
This is a significant difference. We have used the coach several times here in the Northeast this fall and have had plenty of hot water.
Another testament to the customer service from Forest River!

That's awesome to hear 
I get literally 7 minutes of hot water when I shower and thats with the Oxygenics shower head.
How much hot water do you think you get with that new setup in comparison?

It is endless with the tankless setup. The original tankless unit that was installed would not produce hot water if the incoming water was cold.

It would produce nothing but hot water if the water coming in was to warm. Och! We had ours changed to gen 2 and you are right it is great! The only thing I don't like is the controller is in the half bath. Not a big deal. We have it set where we want it now.

Until I run out of propane or the grey water tank fills up if we are not at a park.

For ever. It heats the water as it passes through. There is no tank. It's tankless.

That's fantastic. I never fully understood the "tankless" system. How does it keep up and heat water that fast?

I know that these can be installed aftermarket. I would start with an RV dealer that deals with campers that come with these... But, it seems that you need to be careful which generation of these Girard models. I do believe that there are 2 or 3 other brands.

1,600 x 10 MPG = 16,000 Miles!

We had ours replaced with the newer model and find it still takes two people to get the temp just right for a shower. We have to turn the dial all the way to the right to get the water hot enough for dishes, then turn it back for showers. I am not sure that tankless is good for an RV. There is too much variation in water pressure at campgrounds to be effective. I will say that it is better than the first generation but it still sucks.

HMM! That's not what I wanted to hear. Just picked up a new Berkshire 390bh 2 weeks ago. We camped 1 night in the coach to check things out and the water heater seem to work OK. Hopefully, it will work well in the long run also.

I'm sure you have tried all the fixes but just checking. Do you have a shower head that mixes air with the water. Not sure what brand is best. That did help with ours. Also do you have a pressure regulator. I also found that the water filter was very restrictive I went without for awhile and it made a very positive change in how the water heater worked. Now I use the biggest micron filter I can find. My plan is to get a large filter out side the MH. I think that will improve the water heater results.
