Heated tank pads
Silly question, how to you turn the pads on to heat the black, grey and fresh water tanks in the underbelly?

We have a 2014 400BH. I don't recall seeing a switch for tank heaters where the slide, tank indicators, water pump and water heater switches are located. But that would be the logical place.

On my '14 390, there is a red switch that is not labeled that is for the tank heaters.

On ours, there's a domestic-style light switch on a panel below the kitchen counter with a label "ARTIC PACK". To a Brit, an "artic" is a tractor-trailer rig (short for "articulated lorry"), but I believe it should read "ARCTIC". It turns on the tank heaters.
They're only on the grey and black tanks, on the assumption by the designer that the potable tank is inside the living space. The built in thermostat keeps the heaters on until the tank contents are above 60 F. I can't see using electrical power to heat the sewage to that temp.
I've never used the system.

Pretty sure that is for your tank heater pads. The on demand hot water switch is on the actual hot water heater itself. Think someone gave you bum gouge.

I believe the on demand water heater is also called 'Tankless' right?
Would lead me to believe the 'tank heat' switch does not control the water heater.

I have a Legacy SR 300 and the brochure says we have tank heating pads but I cannot see them nor is there a switch anywhere that would turn them on!

Don't know your unit but they run off a stat and come on at 40 degrees, maybe yours are just automatic without a switch, call your dealer... Kinda of stupid not to have a switch.

To expand on this question, how do you know they are "working". I ask because I was in Idaho on Wednesday and my water all froze up at -9. The tank heater switch was lit up and I also assumed the furnace would be heating the tank compartment but pretty sure it's not. This was a rude awakening to me.

-9!! Wow, might have been to cold for the system to keep up with. And I don't think the furnace will heat the basement compartments.
