Help - Wt. Police
OK, with all the threads lately on weight issues I figured it was time I did mine. I unloaded ALL my stuff from the cargo bays. Drained my FW tank to about 10 gals. (84lbs), I had 3/4 tank of butane and a full tank of diesel. Got on the scales and here are my numbers.
Steer Axle = 10,080 lbs.
Drive Axle = 17,020 lbs.
Total weight = 27,100 lbs.
No one was inside the coach when it was weighed, I did have maybe 200lbs of blankets, towels, pots & misc. items.
Here are my stickers.
Here's the ticket from the scale.
Now for a couple questions,
1) Where do I find what my GCWR is?
2) To the guys that had the upgrade done. How far off were your weights? You can PM me if you don't want them public.
I'll be sending Randy an email with all of this info to see if I am eligible for the upgrade. I know I will be over once a load up for a trip.
ETA: I have a 2013 390BH, I have the 255 tires.

CC you no doubt will need to be upgraded. It's good that you got it weighed. Please don't be offended by this question but you have been around for along time and have seen all the discussions on this subject.
What took you so long? I was frankly surprised when you posted this. I assumed that you had your done.
Let us know how it works out but with those numbers you need to have this done.

Phil, no offense taken at all. I just kept putting it off. There's not many scales where I live and I actually had to travel over an hour away from home today to get it done. No excuse, but I always thought I was good to go.
Joe you got that right, laid back is my middle name.

Phil can you post that picture of the phone numbers of the guys other than Randy. I have Randy's number but I also read that he was out of office for a couple of weeks.

Sorry didn't mean to be a SA. The post really has nothing to do with towing or doing any weight calculations. The issue being discussed was a over weight steer axle and not a loading or towing issue. I only laughed because CC had referenced the calculator and I didn't know what he was talking about. No offense. The tool you referenced looks like a great tool for 5ers or trailers but it's not really needed for a Moho. Staying within the weight limits in a Moho is more a matter of getting it weighed and reading the GVWR as well as the GCWR. I hope you have shared that on other pages as I can see it being helpful with pin weights and tongue weights

1) I believe your GCWR is the total of front +rear +tow item capacity and the GVWR is the total front+rear capacity.
So: 27,910/32,910 for 390BH-40 and 29,410/39,410 for 390BH-60 (2013)
2) I was 200 over on front with similar circumstances. (I have 390BH-60)

You should have gotten a new sticker when you had the FA upgraded. The GCWR is now 29500 with the GCVW remaining the same. This is only the case with Berkshire that have had the FA upgraded and have the 340 motor. The Berkshire with a 360 motor that have been upgrade will also have their GVWR increased by 2000 lbs.

Agreed. I was posting up the current weights before any upgrade.
After the upgrade it willl increase from 10,410 to 12,000 so the new weights will be:
29,500/34,500 and 31,000/41,000

New Berkshire Buyer (2011)
I guess I will email the dealership in Florida (Orlando) where I'm purchasing the motorhome and have them put it on official scales and get the true weight before I purchase it. If over weight I guess FR would have to mod the motorhome.
