Oh, I'm sure it does! When our unit is in "comfort" mode (OK it is ALWAYS in Comfort mode
)every once and a while you can hear the HWH cycle on and heat (to keep the 1.3L holding tank at 120°). So, I would imagine that it would do this almost constantly in cold weather. And all on propane.
Honestly, I'm not sure I would want that "feature" as it is, if we turn the tap on full left, we have HOT water in 10-15 sec max. This would/does present a problem if you are not hooked to city water/sewer: that 15 Sec of water @ 5GPM = a tad over 1 GAL of wasted fresh water + used gray water.
This is why we are installing the Showerrmi$er in the Shower (and, I think, a Sinkmi$er at the kitchen sink as well).

We saw this gadget at last year's FROG Intl Rally and were very impressed. I have the unit (but not the sink one) and hope to install it in the next few weeks. It will almost be a necessity next year on our trip to Alaska - I really do not want to hook up at every 1 or 2 day stop!
