I am rethinking paint all to gather now,,, from what I see here I thinking I am going to look into the insulation with the silver on it !!! Thanks to all for the great ideas !!!
Cut out some reflectix to fit a little big and glue magnets to the corners. Then glue magnets to the roof around the skylight. I also used it to make side widow and front windshield screens. All have magnets. Lot cheaper than sunscreens. Shaved 15deg off inside temp. . Works great
Reflectix is sold at Home Depot btw
I have not check the cost but my new camper has a slide day/night shade over the sky light in the kitchen area . Thinking about buying one for the bathroom. Order through FR. They look to be both the same dimension. Pics here look also to be same size as mine. Later RJD

Speaking of painting your BR sky lite. Here's a thought. Some of the local growers cover their greenhouses (glass and "plastic") with Kool-Ray Classic Shadepaint. It cuts down sunlight and heat is eco friendly and formulated to wear off as the days get shorter.

That's one solution but I don't like that its designed to wear off. I've also found this product, which I also like because its not solvent-based (don't want to risk damaging the acrylic).
ProGuard products. Liquid roof or EPDM supercoat. Similar to liquid rubber. I had checked with skylight manf. first and ProGuard before doing it. No problems. Very thick.

Our Dinning area Sky light has a white fold up shade,,, it has been cooked by the sun,,, as of now I am using to t hold a pic of cardboard,,, which I am going to attach Reflectix too...
Magnets are an interesting Idea !!!
But I believe the frame on ours is plastic ???
Ray, if you haven't yet, look back on page 1 and 2. Same thing I've done to a ton of them, just went a little farther into it. Go ahead and coat the outer dome, and paint the inside of the inner dome, and maybe add a little reflective bubble insulation too, then you won't have any of that light, unless what you did is temporary.

I saw the thread below and wondered and read some comments about using a white paint but is it a bad idea to paint /Spray black ? If so why ? I would be fine if no light came in.
I simply painted the outside with plasti dip from Lowe's. Very simple and easy and effective.
All my roof vents and A/C cover are black...If I spay it white it's going to stand out since the shower skylight is right on the edge of the roof.

Black will suck in the heat. I painted mine black to block and then covered with reflective silver. Works great.
I think gooping four magnets around the outside of the dome and four more to a foil emergency blanket will work. Put it on when you park and remove it when you leave. Place it so the foil side faces out and it should do the trick. No permanent installation and nothing inside to fall or fail. Just an idea.

I bought the reflective/insulated covers for the door window, and used velcro to cover the dome skylight over the shower. makes a big difference. i combined this with an insulated vent pillow in the bathroom vent which keeps the bathroom dark and cool.

I'm ordering a smoked dome, to replace the one that's on the roof now. Everything else is black/smoke I don't know why they would put a white dome over the shower. I guess it's my OCD kicking in.
Painted the outside of mine with white interior latex. Took all of 10 minutes and blocked almost all heat gain while still letting light in. Simple and it works.
