You may be sorry with the smoked dome. Even intense sunlight is not hot when traveling through a vacuum. It heats things that absorb it (including air molecules and vapor in the air. Black surfaces absorb most of the sunlight and therefore generates a lot of heat. The more reflective, the better. I have put some film on my home widows that have somewhat of a tint, but it is a special product that also reflects. This is why most paint their dome white; so it reflects. It does not do a perfect job in reflecting, but it is better then any other color except for very mirror-like surfaces.

Your smoked dome will help some, since will heat up and retard some sunlight from getting in The dome will heat up with heat on the outside surface going to the air, but the heated inside surface going into the RV. It will help some, but not the best choice. - Hank
