How is RT 301 from Ocala to Jacksonville, FL

We are currently in Ocala Florida and must get to Jacksonville tomorrow. The routing we are getting is to take RT 301. This is the shortest route but not sure how the road is. Can anyone tell me what kind of road 301 is and is it in good shape?

Drove that same rout October of last year...perfectly fine for RV driving, just watch the speed limit changes around the small towns.

Towed a few times that way as said watch speeds and traffic lights.

Good road. Some small town speed traps, but the worst was
Waldo Fl. I think that one has quieted down some due to some legal action.

301 to I10 to Jacksonville is an easy run.

Too many small towns in the 301 route (unless you just want it to take longer and be slower). From Ocala I usually take SR-40 to I-95, but that's by auto.

All you have to do is follow the speed limit through the towns and you should be fine. I would never go Rt. 40 to I- 95, IMHO.

I traveled from Lakeland 98 to 301 to A1A and hit 95 north of Jacksonville heading to Virginia last Monday (23rd) . Nice road, much less hectic than I-4 to 95 which is how I've traveled in the past. I'll use it again.

Took 40 to 19N to 17N. Did 131 miles in 2 he's 40 min. Did this because we missed 301. Very scenic and not very many towns to go through.
