How often should you drain a Truma tankless water heater.

Hello All. This is our first motorhome with a Truma. We have used it one one trip so far and it seems to work great. Due to our daughter's wedding and some other commitments, we won't be using our motorhome for about 2 months. Should I drain the Truma until our next trip or is ok to store it as is with water in it? No concerns about freezing, just about scale build up, etc.

If it’s going to be over a couple weeks or so, or if any chance of cold snap I drain ours. Where we live the scale issue can be real also. It’s so simple and easy to drain that it really takes so little time and effort.

scale not an issue for me- I fill system in spring- drain in November. But if needed it takes less time to drain then to write this reply.

Turn off water pump, open truma door, pull drain lever.

Thanks everyone, sounds like it might not need to be drained for that length of time but I might just do it anyway since it is so easy.

I drain mine whenever I am done camping (Store it empty) I figure leaving any water in the lines or tank can both smell over time or corrode components or other. Its a quick open, pull lever replace.

I would recommend draining the water heater, and removing the filter when not using the unit.
