Just got back from Elkhart

Got the tires and airbags replaced on my Berk (explanation in earlier thread) and all I can say is WOW! The driving experience is completely different. Much more relaxed ride. Well worth the 12hr drive(one way) to Elkhart.

Special thanks to Randy for taking care of this. The experience was fantastic. (You created a Berkshire owner for life.)

Also, thanks to Craig for the factory tour. Very enlightening.

Saw the Berk XLTs getting built. They are very nice. If they decide to build a bath and 1/2 model, I will be spending some $$$ to upgrade!

I'm glad FR Berkshire is backing their product and doing the right thing.
I'm dropping my unit off Monday at a Freightliner dealer for my upgrade and some scheduled maintenance.

You can't beat the team at the factory. We have never been disappointed.

Front airbags and tires. We were sold units over weight on the front axle. 2011 rb 40. Bath and a half 340 hp engine tile floors 10,400 max front axle 22.5x255 tires. We were overweight with full fuel, propane, empty coach empty fresh, gray, black tanks just wife and myself.

The 360 should have a 12,000 lbs front axle and the larger tires. I don't think the bunkhouse is affected. I have the rear bath and a half.

Not true. Up until 2014 all Berkshires came with 255 fires and 10400 lb steer axel. This includes the 340 and the 360 hp motor. You are correct in that the RB is most affected by over weight but there are a lot of BH that are over as well. The best thing to do is get your Moho weighed. Don't assume you are over weight or that you are good. Weigh the Moho.

Exactly. I assumed for 16,000 miles that since I had the 360 AND a bunkhouse I was fine. So I had the coach weighed and I was over. Just take the time to weigh. If anything, it will help you know how much air pressure you need in your tires.

Most Berkshire owners are positive about Foreset River. When you go through the Berkshire posts you find we will defend Forest River Berkshire division and get upset at people who don't own one and want to bash them you just can't understand without having had to deal with Randy and the gang. Very professional and really care about their products. I understand not all owners of other the divisions get the care we do.

I agree that FR were good to deal with although they could not help us as our unit was out of warranty. There is much talk about the newer units. Ours is a 2008 390QS-50 a little older than what u guys talking about. Any knowledge with weight issues on the older models. I have never thought to get it weighed. Maybe i should.

I could be wrong but think it pertains more to the coaches that have tiled floors.

No you have no issue with yours. I do suggest getting it weighed but you shouldn't have a issue. The problem came about because FR never re engineered the build after they added def/ 4 door fridge/ RB model / tile floor.

Did they just upgrade the front air bags and tires, or all the air bags and tires?

Also, the front axle is certified for GWAR of 12,000lbs. They actually label the axle. When going into Access Freightliner for my VIN, it specifies that it was modified.
