Modified Sine Wave?

Was told today that a modified sine wave inverter (like the Magnum that FR installs in our Berks) can be detrimental to modern electronics like our flatscreens, computers, etc

Anyone know about this??

Boowho??

Really? I thought it was a pure sine wave?

Anyway, not something I worry about.
How has yours been working over the years?

Don't worry about what is installed. Modified sine inverters work 99% of modern electronics just fine. The 1% that require pure sine wave inverters have big power drains (like some microwave magnetrons) and are not frequently encountered in the RV arena.

I have a Modified sine inverter and have not found a single item that will not work; from desktop PC to TVs.

Gottawonder,
If you have a residential refrigerator, then it is a pure sine wave.

Boo,
My '08 had a modified sine wave and I never had any issues with it.

Right..... The MS is full sine wave. I however have and MM which is MSW.

FR must have upgraded between '11 and '14 OR the MS is an option.

I'm a bit nervous as I have some pretty expensive electronic equipment; for example a Yamaha musical key board that cost me $2300. Of course a small fortune in computers as well.

Boowho??

My understanding is that anything that runs by converting AC to DC, (like laptops, most newer flatscreens, pretty much anything with a rectifier) should be fine with a MSW.

Of course I'm not an electrian so if I'm wrong somebody correct me.
