INSTALLATION AND PROGRAMING INSTRUCTIONS
FOR MOTORIZED SHADES WITH 12 VOLT DUAL SWITCHED MOTOR
(SETTING KEY OR LEARNING WIRE)
1. Installation instructions:
Position shade in window; insure shade is positioned correctly for electrical hook up.
Secure shade in position with hardware appropriate for the surface shade is mounted on. All brackets on shade must be securely mounted.
2. Electrical connection:
A dual position rocker switch is required for shade operation.
Connect motor to switch; Blue stripped wire is the (positive) connection
White wire is (negative) connection
Brown wire on motor goes to a (positive) ignition connection. Connecting this wire allows the shade to be programmed to have limited downward movement if ignition is on. (Short range programming)
3. Short range programming:
Short range programming is done to establish the limits for shade movement while automotive ignition is on.
Insure electrical hook ups are completed per instructions and there is power to shade at this time you should also have power to the (+) ignition wire. (Brown)(Ignition on)
Entering into the state of programming:
Press and hold the operating switch in the “down” position, while holding the switch in the down position press and hold the setting key/learning wire switch until motor beeps. (Hold until motor beeping stops.) Release both switches. Motor has now entered its programming state.
Keep in mind you are setting the upper and lower limits you would like the shade to operate at while the ignition is on. For safety reasons it is recommended you do not set the lower limit below the driver’s line of sight.
Setting lower limit:
Lower shade by pressing “down” switch, as shade nears its lower position press “stop” switch. At this point, each time you press and release “down” switch the shade will move downward in very small increments, allowing you to fine tune your lower stop point. Once you have reached the correct lower stop position press the “up” switch one time and you have programmed the lower stop point.
Setting upper limit:
Raise shade by pressing “up” switch, as shade nears its upper limit press “stop” switch. At this point, each time you press and release “up” switch the shade will move upward in very small increments, allowing you to fine tune your upper stop point. Once you have reached the correct upper stop position press and hold the “down” switch until motor beeping stops. You have now set the upper and lower limits for the shade in short range programming.
4. Long range programming:
Note: Short range programming must be completed first.
Power to ignition wire on motor should be turned off (brown wire)(Ignition off)
Long range programming is done in the same manner used for short range program with the exception of the ignition wire is not energized for long range programming.
Lower limit is set first, upper limit is set last.
5. Programming check:
With ignition power on, check to insure shade stops at short range settings. With ignition power off, insure shade stops at long range settings.
If shade does not operate as programmed, return to programming instructions beginning with short range program step 1.
If shade does not stop at programmed lower limit while ignition power is on check to insure brown wire on shade motor is properly connected to an ignition positive connection.
Do not operate shade while driving if all programming steps have not been completed and checked.
