December 1, 2023 Update to my Berk manual
I've made a few updates to the manual. When I add material, I try to keep the number of pages from growing by tightening up my writing style and removing some outdated information. This update may be two pages longer, unfortunately.
I can't remember all the changes that I've made for this update, but they include:
• A more complete discussion of the AC power circuits: which side of the breaker they are on and whether they require shore power or generator to be enabled.
• More detail on how to customize the Light Bar Control Unit (LBCU), and how to find Engine Diagnostic codes and read their descriptions.
The Diagnostics are particularly important if you are on the road and the Dashboard Display throws an amber or red Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). I've got a link to the Thomas bus code manual, which lists most of these codes. I recommend that you download that manual so that you can look the codes up while on the road. This can help you to decide what to do about the diagnostic: where to go for help (amber MIL lamps) and whether you need a tow (red MIL lamps).
In addition, you should take a picture of any codes that you see, because they will be erased if you the condition is transient and does not recur over the next three Engine restarts. Showing the pictures to a mechanic can reduce the time for them to determine what to repair.
