The motor is probably a MB926 - 330 HP, 1000FP Torque. We have a 2008 390qs with that engine. Get approximately 9 MPG except when driving in mountains - drops to 7-8. We have had a couple of issues with breaks in injector lines. Have had to have two #4 and #5 replaced. The motor runs out well, and does everything we have asked. Freightliner told us the motor likes to be worked - going up mountains 2nd gear and 22-2500 RPMs works well. Oh, my normal service man says if I don't want to return to him for an oil change he would NOT be unhappy. all of the oil and fuel filters are in cartridges (not spin-ons) and something more than half must be accessed through the bedroom floor as they are on the top of the motor. If you have other questions would be happy to try to answer.

Thanks for responding.... I'm looking at a 2008 with only 20,160 miles on it... I know absolutely nothing about this engine... I'm familiar with the Cat and Cummings.. I do know this motor is in trucks around the world...

What type facility do you have it serviced in????

Do you tow with it???

I'm going to look at the coach Saturday and feel sure I'll purchase it....

Have you ever regretted having this engine over a cat or Cummings???

Again, thanks for your help.... I'll let you know how I make out....

The MB926 can be serviced at most Freightliner centers - since MB, FL, Detroit Diesel are all the same company. Preferably look for a center that mentions Detroit Diesel. Look at my signature - we tow a 2008 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab 4X4 Pickup. Since the coach we liked had the MB there wasn't a choice - it is also the first DP we have owned so can't compare.

I really appreciate your help.... Feel pretty sure we will get the coach this weekend and we are looking forward to some great times with it.... Just sold a FR Lexington so a class A will definitely be a step up for us....

I guess if you tow that beast you tow, we shouldn't have any trouble towing a Ford Edge...

The Colorado is NOT a beast to tow. It weighs less than 4000 pounds, and tows very easily. I have towed over several of the major mountain passes in Co and NM this summer.
