New Berkshire 400BH owner
Hi, I am new to the forum. We are picking up our 2014 Berkshire 400BH this weekend! I do have an important question that I know everyone is probably sick of but, it has to do with tire pressure. I know that it is very important to weigh the coach but next week I am supposed to be going to Georgia with my son and I am not sure I will have time to get it weighed before hand. Does anyone have any opinions on this whether I will be ok making it down there without weighing it first? Thanks
John

Welcome and congratulations.
There may be a weigh station closer than you think or on the way to your destination.
I found that there was a Loves truck stop near us that was easy to get to.
If for some reason you can't get weighed, You can put the max on the tire sidewall until you can get weighed. If you don't like the way it drives and rides on your first trip, remember that will probably improve after getting weighed and adjusting tire pressure.
I was uncomfortable driving until I got the pressure set.
But at least check and know what your tire pressure is.
Happy trails.

Thank you!
When you weighed your coach did you get individual wheel weighings or just front and rear axle weighing?
I'm having a tough time finding a 4 point scale. I have a Cat Scale not far from home but I believe they only do front and rear weighing. Is that good enough to get the right tire pressure setting dialed in?
Thanks

I just had front and rear weights as I have never found a place to do 4 points either.
Added about 5 lbs to allow for side to side variance.
Not suggesting this for you, but our initial weight before we got fully loaded indicated 100 front and 90 rear. I am now running 105 front and 95 rear. We have 275/70/22.5 tires.
On our first trip home with max pressure all around, the coach seemed to wander a bit and trucks pushed around a little too much.

Everyone will have an opinion. Mine would be to check your coach weight sticker and inflate the tires based on the max weight for the coach rather the max the tire will take. Adjust this when you get the coach weighed.

I weighed mine front and rear and the PSI came out to 95 front and 87 rear. I run 100 in the front and 90 in the rears and my ride is really nice and tire ware is normal.

A safe start is 105 front and 95 rear as many have said. A 4 point weight is he'd to find. Most FMCA rally's and the FROG rally in Goshen have a mobile service.
Welcome and congrats. We us a major discussion on the Berkshire Page about this and most were at 100-105 front and 90-95 rear. I full time and I'm very heavy and mine is great at 105 and 95.

The only place I found to do each tire separately, was when I had mine serviced in Gafney.
But I didn't actually look anywhere else either.
Congratulations on the Berk!!

Welcome. I'm run 100 in the front tires and 95 in the rears. Dealer had 110 all around. After I dropped the pressures down the coach handled much better. At 110 all around it wanted to wander & dart a bit. My coach is a 2014 390 FL

Welcome to the Berkshire Family! You will love your coach! I find 100 front and 95 back makes for a good comfortable ride, but your own coach weight and ride preference will determine your "sweet spot" the best.
Good Luck!
