The DW says "take the gig in Durango" Prior to our meeting she lived in Denver. One of her favorite places is Durango and the train to Silverton. After reading your post she asked "Can we retire now?" Thanks for the assist

We've opted against it..... We're old enough now, that the first time some punk kid tried to give me grief, I'd wind up in jail for assault. As they say in the deep south we "don't suffer fools lightly".

Just now I watched an *hole block the entire exit from this park while he waited for the wife to bring the toad around for hookup. He sat there for at at least 10 minutes before the wife brought the car.

Two coaches behind him hit the air horns several times each, and the jerk just sat there like he was deaf.

We're I working here and handling that, I would have told him to NEVER come back. What the hell is wrong with SOME people??

Boowho??

Change in plans!! We just accepted the offer to become 5 to 9 pizza bakers and cash register jockeys for a combined (DW and myself) 24 hours per week. For that we get a free spot, plus electricity, plus propane, plus breakfast every day, plus two free tickets to the Durango / Sliverton train ride.

We basically have three evenings on then three evenings off. I calculate that adding all the benefits will be somewhere around $1300 per month is I had to pay for all of it. Hourly wage around $10.50.

I think we should have a mini rally and every night we can watch Boohoo work. We could order pizza ever night.

Are you coming for the great bicycle/train race??

I told them the bicyclists should ride on the tracks a half mile ahead of the train. Now THAT would be a REAL race!!!!

When I was younger I spent a summer as a wrangled on a dude ranch in Mancos, CO near mesa Verde. I remember it snowing the first week of June, that was at an elevation of around 7000 ft. Of course the rest of the summer was hot. Beautiful country and some wonderful nights spent sleeping under the stars (no tent or anything just a sleeping bag and campfire) at the transfer corrals.

Actually, we gave it up two days ago.

Have been out of the work force (retired) for over 7 years, so could not get used to all the office (park) politics and all the usual crap around ANY work environment.

Had a fellow worker bee (who didn't understand that she was NOT running the place) "go off" on the DW, because she didn't like the way we mowed our small patch of grass outside the camper; screamed at the DW that it was too short.

First of we mowed our little patch to the exact length that is normal for CO, having lived in CO for years. Second, it was none of her GD business. The b**** is in charge of NOTHING; just thinks she it.

Talked to REAL management about it and they could not have been more blase about it. Other WCampers, told me that's just the way she is, just ignore it.

Umm, NO...... We aren't made that way. Wasn't looking for a job when we got there, so not in the mood to accept any "stuff" from a peon that doesn't think she's a peon. I'm armed and don't suffer fools easily, as they say in the south. Best I just leave.

So, Monday morning pulled up he jacks, pulled in the slides and headed for Central California for the summer. NO more work camping for us!!!

Boowho??
