One More Tire Question

Has anyone had any experience or currently use the Tyron tire Blowout protection system. Does it really help in a blowout situation? Any infor will be helpful.

Thanks,

Warren

Never heard of it... interesting. Can't seem to find a price anywhere, did you?

Just had these put on when I picked up my coach. Their website is tyron-usa.com. I think I paid just under $2300. Not sure if thats a good price because I didn't shop around. The idea is similar to a runflat tire except your not supposed to ride on it, just allows you to pull over. If you have a front tire blowout the band is meant to keep the tire from separating from the wheel. Its supposed to give you more control and keep the tire from shredding everything around the wheel. Hopefully they work and hopefully I will never find out.

I had three separate blowouts on steer tires with no ill effects. Was able to change two of them , the third was on the driver's side in heavy traffic. So i let service company do that one.

Impressive.... they're 155 pounds on the rim each and take up a lot of space. Not many people carry a spare rim and tire.

Some say the Tire shops will not deal with you if you have Tyron tire bands on your steer wheels.

If I owned a tire shop I'd be happy to deal with you. I'd have to charge for extra time involved however.

One More Tire Question

I had a tire shop in Murfreesboro TN refuse to dismount and replace a tire on a wheel with Tyron.
