Paint Issue

Has anyone with a Berkshire had the paint begin to crack, it's just on the Brown color. found two areas, just below the driver window and above the drivers side rear tires.

I haven't had the paint crack like that, but in a few places the paint is bubbling up. I'm assuming rust is underneath causing the paint to do that.

What year is the coach? Cracking could be just in the clear coat. Any consultation with a detailer?

Haven't taken it in yet to a paint shop or detalier but plan on doing that. It's a 2009 Berkshire.

I have an 08 and had the brown paint above the windshield delaminate the clear coat. There was another thread about the same thing, mentioning that it looked like a peeling sunburn on a bald man, that did not give a conclusion. I had mine redone, but changed it to the gold color. The interior temperature change, especially in the front upper storage area, was very noticeable. The body shop owner gave the opinion that the heat from the dark color may have caused the fiberglass to outgas, causing the delamination

Thanks all, did some research and looks like the clear coat is cracking. now just to find where to get the areas sanded and repainted.

I had a small paint blemish or blister that I had repaired at the FR plant.

Paint Problem

Our "08" had the Clear Coat fail above the windshield and down to the protective coating on the front. My local dealer gave me the address of a shop that paints big rigs, oil trucks and the like. That was two years ago and all is still well. I think the origional clear coat had a problem as there have been numerous posts about this.

GOOD LUCK

Patsysmith, we have had our Berkshire since 2010, purchased new and have over 42,000 miles on it. Drove it up to AK, down to FL Keys and places inbetween. We have looked at others and for the price we have been very happy. The best reply would we buy a Berkshire again, YES, and the model we have works great for the two of us.

Patsysmith bought s new 2014 in March of this year and we put 3700 miles on already and love it a few minor issues but that can be expected.
