We are camping at Tiger Run RV Resort in Breckenridge. There was a detailer running around and I went to ask him the best way to get hard water spots off the side of the coach. I said my rim looks horrible as well. He said he could polish them for $25 per wheel. I said sure. Here is the before and after.

High speed buffer and a little polish go a long ways.

WOW, they look awesome!

To remove hard water spots I use a mix of 75% water and 25% white distilled vinegar. Just spray it on and wipe the hard water spots off. I use it on the glass, the paint and the aluminum wheels. You will smell like vinegar until you wash up but it's a really easy and cheap way to remove the spots.

There are people who do this in Truck Stops and make good money at it.
If you pack a CB in your tow rig you can hear when they are workin.

Looks great,,,big difference. Now you keep it that way. I usually wax my wheels and it makes them easier to clean..

nice job on the wheels and a great price too. polish them up about once a month and the cleaning/polishing will go much faster now that the oxidation is gone.

I thought they looked good before when I bought the coach. I never knew they could look this good.

when you run that coach thru the truck wash do NOT have the brightener added if they offer. it does polished aluminum no good. if you can find a polisher that uses jewelers rouge, you will get those wheels shinier yet.

Looks great. I have seen guys detailing in campgrounds before. I always thought that was a big no no to detail/ wash an RV in a campground.

I suspect they have deals with local guys that do the washing. The RV park gets a kickback for exclusivity. Also doesn't hurt business to have beautiful clean rigs on property!

Tiger Run --- expensive but beautiful! Might consider buying a lot there one day.

Where we camp in FL (Davenport/Kissimmee) for the winter, the detailers are independent, bring their own water, etc and have nothing to do with the campgrounds themselves. You can pick whomever to do the detailing from the yellowpages or do a Google search.

I use a Mothers Power Ball w/extension shaft, and Turtle Wax Scratch & Swirl remover. Takes a little time but does a great job. Just cant see paying $100 for something I can do very easy myself.

They look great - does that Cadillac have fender skirts?

No fender skirts. After we have looked it over very closely, we noticed that there are no remnants or traces of wax in any cracks, crevices, emblems or anything. Came to the conclusion that the car has never been waxed but the finish is immaculate. Hard to believe a 17 year old car has never been waxed, but having been garage kept it's entire life and never driven in the rain, I guess it's possible. Can't believe we were lucky enough to buy it.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Couldn't really tell on the skirts - figured if it did have them, they would be small.

I can't remember the last U.S.car that came with fender skirts - I put them on my '53 and '57 Chevys.

Oldest son doesn't like the looks of the rear fender cutouts because it doesn't show the whole wheel. Young punks (50 yo) just don't appreciate a lowered, skirted car, altho he did like my '56 which was lowered, skirted and with functioning lake pipes.
