Randy Houser

In case anyone hasn't heard this enough, I just want to echo previous comments that Randy Houser, from Forest River Diesel Division in Elkhart is the man! Had an issue with some work done at freightliner facility that dealer said was not covered under warranty, called Randy and within a half an hour of speaking with him, got a call from the dealer saying that Freightliner would cover the repair (kudos also to freightliner). I am glad to see that Forest River stands behind their products, and even more glad to see outstanding representation in people like Randy. Thanks again for your help Randy!

Just to add to this when dealing with FR I will add Andy and Warren to the attaboy list. They all three go above and beyond what is expected.

Marc Warren is the guy that leads in house repairs. He has a young guy working with him and they both do a good job. Very helpful.

While naming names Randy is certainty number one but his assistant Mitch Wirt is not far behind. Both of these guys have been great to work with over the years. They are one reason I am glad I choose Forest River and why I recommend it whenever I can.

The entire staff is excellent and one of the reasons I bought my second Berkshire. Great group to work with.

Randy

I hope you guys are right. It has taken 3 weeks for my brand new unit to be picked up to go back to Elkhart for repairs. Now 5 more days and no contact.

I don't mean this as criticism at all but I don't take a wait and see approach to getting issues fixed. If my rig is in the factory for five days I'm either with it or talking to someone their every day. I want to know what they found out and how the repairs are coming. I know I drove Randy a little crazy but we did remain friends through it all. It helps that I live two hours away and am retired.
What is it at the factory for ?

I see this is your first post and I failed to welcome you. I'm glad you found the forum and happy you are here. I would think that anything you are going through someone has already done it so share any questions you have.

I'm at the factory today having a few things repaired. Had a nice conversation with Randy. One piece of advise if you contact him or one of his folks. Leave a detailed professional message if you get his voice mail.

While repairs can be frustrating you have to leave the frustration out of the conversation. Randy was getting ready to call back an owner who had left him a message full of demands and ugly language last night! I can tell you from my experience as a customer service manager you get much further when you treat people, you want to help you, with courtesy and professionalism.

OK, I'm off my rant now.
