Replacement Tires
Just a quick question,
Has anyone found a suitable replacement for the Michelin XRV 255/80R22.5 tires supplied with their coach? I think these tires are really expensive, and even though I am in the process of replacing 4 of them with the same tire I still wonder if it is the best buy for my money (about $2900.00 when all is said and done). I have no problem with the performance of them but neither are they asked to perform like they are on a sports car. Most of us drive fairly slow compared to the other traffic on the highway and 20k miles a year is probably high mileage for any of us. I have never met anybody that has actually worn out a tire before they were aged out. By the way I have always sworn by the brand and use them on my personal vehicles.
GOOD LUCK

Replacement Tires
I had the thread replaced tires.
You responded in that thread. Might want to go back and review if you want.
I'm still happy with what I purchased.

Try bumping up to the larger 275/80r22.5 and you may see the price drop some. If you're a member of FMCA the offer a discount tire program.

I would strongly encourage everyone with a MH to join FMCA. Along with the discount on Michelin tires the benefits are a bargain at 40$ a year.

Go with the FMCA program, if I remember 6 (XRV 255/80R22.5 tires) cost was around $3,100 plus and mounting.

I went with the Hercules brand. I recently put close to 4,000 miles on them and worked great. Hit 75-80 a few times down hill. The best part is I was only $1700 roughly out of pocket. And that was for all 6 tires.

Family Motor Coach Association
It is a organization for MH owners only and has local chapters. Many benefits including a discount on Michelin tires and a free benefit that will return your MH toad family and pets if anyone in the family becomes sick on a trip. They pay for everything. Great benefits for 40 dollars a year.

The FMCA membership is now $99 per year; we got a free year when we purchased our MH and we're still trying it out. I've included a link to their website below as well as an attachment that shows their current member pricing on RV tires so you can judge for yourself. I haven't vetted this pricing against what's out on the street, so please check it. They don't guarantee the best price, just that you don't pay an inflated price when having a tire replaced on the roadside. Still probably worth it, though. FMCA is for motor coach and motorhome owners. Motorcoach articles, motor home blogs, motor coach advice and motorhome videos.

Membership is not 99$. It's 50$ the first year and 40$ per year after.
The tire discount is great but the free service that will return you and your family to your home base and return your MH and toad to your base is a fantastic deal. They pay for everything even will return your remains if you don't make it.

Do you order directly from FMCA? I went to camping world today and they quoted me $775/tire plus $57/tire to mount. Other local stores say they are back ordered. I have the Michelin XRV 255/80R22.5. Got a small crack on the outside wall on my front left.

Don't buy them at camping world, they're a ripoff.

Dave I believe you get a preauthorized number from FMCA but I've never done it. I see you have a 2011 but what model is it. Have you had it weighed? Did you know that you can but larger tires on it. Do a search as there is lots if info about it.

I've called 15+ Michelin tire dealers and have been unable to find the 255/80R22.5. Without having to make any additional modifications do you all recommend any other tires for my 2011 Berkshire bh390? Thanks!

Disregard my previous post. I just found the tires on simpletire.com. Paid $543/tire which is much better than the $775/tire from Camping World. Appreciate all the responses on this and as always I learn something new everyday on the site.

Paid $503 pe tire, 255/80R 22.5 XRV on the FMCA program, but you need to add the taxes, mountng, balance etc to the bill. Took almost 6 weeks for the dealer to get them in.
