replacing my rear A/C

Trying to get ahead of this before the new ac arrives. I am not sure if I am fortunate that the same Penguin unit is still available or not, but I bought it anyways. So I am trying to figure out what mods were made by FR. I see the module screwed into the front plastic shroud that looks like the interface to the inside control panel (circled in red). When I first got the coach the ac would freeze up so I installed the freeze sensor (circled in yellow) and purchased a new one for the new install. So what else do I need to address?

Notes -

Look for DIP switch settings
Look for ambient temp sensor
Use Dicor on AC mounts
Seal any holes gaps

what year is your coach? my guess is it has Dometic AC units on it as the box circled in red looks like a analog to digital convert that was used as the Dometic A/C could not operate with a digital signal. Try Precision Circuits, as they supplied the digital to analog boxes.

Eric - the 34QS is a 2019 but actually built in late 2018. According to Dometic, the AC's were manufactured in 2017.

I'll reach out to Precision. Thanks!

Replacement arrived

The new AC came today and it's missing a part? Not sure if this is a Dometic part (support closed now) or a Berkshire part? Looks like the new pigtail would plug into this box. Is this also a swap over item?

What is missing is the D/A converter box that Eric mentioned further up the thread. Contacting Precision Circuits would be your best bet as they were the OE supplier of the D/A box

missing control board

So I am missing the Dometic Analog Control board that's in this zoomed picture. I have since ordered a new one which comes with a thermostat that I wont need, but ok. There is a wiring harness from the Precision A/D converter that goes to the control board, and I can see red, white and blue wires that look taped together and don't go anywhere. The red say "TO TSTAT".

@Lincman983 - do you have a wiring diagram for this interface?

Here are some prints of the a/c controller, multiplex harness. Not dure if that model of a/c has the heat pump but I attached a print for it as well.

No. It's not mechanical. It attaches to the bottom.

Wiring it up

So I got the drain kit installed and now I am struggling with the wiring. The connector coming off the Digital/Analog control board has 5 wires, AFH, AFL, COMP, AHT and GND. The Dometic control box has 4 wires, +12 V to T-STAT, +12 From Supply, -12V from Supply and to T-STAT, and COMM.

Do I have to open the controller and try to find AFH (Fan High), AFL (Fan Low) and splice into them?

Dometic controller = 3316230.700

Maybe there is a specific controller to install?

Parts Dept #

Eric or Linc,

I am trying to call FR Parts Dept. I have in my notes, Jackie Grey @ 574-522-1747.

Is that still valid? All I get is an answering machine .

Yes, that is the correct phone number. I believe the parts dept was closed due to inventory Tuesday.
