Replacing pull-down shades

Anyone replaced their crappy old original shades with traditional pull-down shades???

If so, how do you like your new ones?? Cost??

No, but we've considered replacing ours with powered shades after seeing an ad on an RV show. Ours didn't come with Day/Night shades for instance and we miss that privacy feature.

I'm interested in what you come up with and other comments.

There seems to be several hits on DuckDuckGo (like Google) that describe sellers and installing shades, some with YouTube videos. None of the motorized seem low cost, however. But then, while we are being foolish, the RV wasn't either.

I miss my day/night shades that I had in my previous MH as well. The pull downs clank when driving and just seem cheap. I would consider replacing with day/night but would definitely not go down the motorized route.

Replaced all of ours with Levolor cellular blinds from Lowes. They cut them to the width we needed and got dark brown to provide some darkness during the day. Was a little pain to take down the valance and put back up.

Ernest, used one of those little 90 degree Phillips screw drivers. Used a dremel with a 90 degree bit to drill the new holes for blinds. Was a pain to do for sure. The valances are held in place with 90 degree metal "L" brackets that can be unscrewed from the valances.

I know this thread is a little old but we used a drill with about 3 bits(for length) and a Phillips head screw driver to gets ours down. There are small 90 degree angle brackets that you have to unscrew. They are silver in color. It is easier to unscrew them from the valance first rather than the wall.

I wasn’t too careful with them because they’re not going back up. We are replacing the shades with roller shades(most likely from rec pro) soon.
