Paul,
Wise decision. I wouldn't want to mess with it either.

Hey Paul, I'll see if I have any problems without using the icemaker. If not, I think I'll just let it go.

Rich,
Don't think it has to do with the ice maker. The Technical Service Pointer that the link was posted for talks about ice build up on the bottom of the freezer and the defrost water does not drain due to a clogged valve. Sounds like the clogged drain valve is the problem.

Paul

Paul did they give you an explanation on why they are stating only for part now when their Technical Service Pointer clearly says 2 years for parts and labor which should be charged to their Special Project # S38211 ?

Now this is from TSP # W10632338A which supersedes # W10632338.
Do they have a new TSP which supersedes #W10632338A stating only parts ?

Well then Tom, I guess that I may have to rethink this then. Thanks

Don't see one. They're going to have to email me a copy of that. How can they just change these whenever? I'm going to insist on parts and labor !

See where that gets me !

I had this fix performed today. Whirlpool set up the appointment for me. When I explained the fridge was in an RV, the tech reserved the right to back out. I said okay, let's do it, it's a 2 man job. Here's what we had to do. Bought 2 milk crates and 2 light moving blankets. Removed the fridge drawer front panel (4 screws). Removed the fridge wheels cover. Removed the 3 screws holding the fridge in place. Removed the top right door top hinge cover and hinge, Lifted the door off. Removed lower door hinge and lower right wheel assembly. Pulled the lower wooden cover off from below the fridge and unplugged it. We had to pull the cord and water feed from foam insulation/sealant. Tied a pull string on the power cord so it wouldn't sneak away. Placed 1 moving blanket on the floor and placed the milk crates at the outside edges of the fridge. Pulled the fridge out slowly and slid crates under the side frames. Placed the other blanket over the front of the fridge. When it was about 2/3 out, I pushed the bathroom side of the fridge out more than the front side. This twisted the fridge and allowed it to be carefully slid out to the edge of the back. It's really tight! The tech removed the back cover (6 screws) and installed the new P-trap. Reversed the process and it's done. Total time - Less than a hour. It can't be performed by 1 person. No more water on the floor during auto-defrost cycle. All under warranty of the fridge.
I tipped the tech $20 for sticking it out with me. He really wanted to quit twice. The hardest part was figuring out the process. The fix took less than 1 Minute!
Regards,
Fred

Just curious ... what year did FR start putting residential refrigerators in the 390BH. Our 2012 has a dometic side by side.

What is the advantage of residential other than cost?
