Shade and awning advice
Hello all,
I'm looking to add awnings to my side windows and covers to my front windshield and drivers side window. We are full timing it until the house is built and we're tired of having to keep the nightshades down all the time to keep out the heat. Feels like we are living in a cave. I've seen some pics here that looked very nice and one, in particular, with window awnings that looked great but I can't find it now. Any pics, advice, links, and opinions would be great to have. Also, if the owner of the windows awnings pic could let me know where he got them from.

I ordered from advanced windshield reflector. Www.heatshieldstore.com. $35 for windshield and $35 for two side windows. Great heat reflection and privacy. There custom made for your vehicle.

A & E Dometic and Carefree Of Colorado are the 2 that come to my mind. I installed the A & E window awnings on my unit. Very simple (good for me) and easy to do. Google for web sites. There are others I'm sure.

These are either Shade Pro or Magne Shade, which ever one is in Florida. I can't remember which place I got them. They work great and you can still see outside.

Shades for front window and sides
We are hoping that Magnashade will be at Goshen Ralley in Aug. We have talked to them many times and decided that is what we are going to purchase , just go to Magnashade.com and you will see all the designs they have and by calling them they are very helpful .

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go with the Magna shade for the front and drivers window. Still looking for window awnings for the side. Looked at Carefree's and they look decent. Anyone have these?

I have awning from shade pro. I had them installed at a FMCA rally a couple of years ago. They still look great and do a good job of keeping the MH cool. I second the Magna shade. Roger is a good guy and his product is so easy to put on and off. Big fan.

I do not remember them being at the Rally last year, but I could be wrong...I guess you can call and ask and then see if they will be having a discount if bought there.

I bought mine at the FMCA rally in Goshen last year. Roger had planned to be at the FROG rally but it interfered with the FMCA rally in Washington State. They have all the templates for the Berkshire so fit is not an issue. I don't believe I got much of a discount because of the show. I also bought the wheel covers. So easy to put on and no bugs critters or snakes. You do need to put them on before you dump the air.

I called them and they said that they did not know at this point if they would be there. I asked if they were to go, would they be selling and installing shades and they said

(Sorry. .from my phone) since they were custom made for the coaches, they would be unable to do so. Maybe if ordered before, they would be able to bring them to the rally and install.

Rich it took 3 weeks from when I ordered to delivery. Getting the magnets on the top of the windshield is a bit of work. It took me about an hour to get them on. Well worth the effort as I can put them on by myself with no ladder in a couple of minutes.

Phil, what was the difficulty in installing the upper magnets? That's where I thought that Magne shade would be able to help if they had a bunch of pre-orders to install at the rally and then be able to demonstrate and showcase their product at the same time. Maybe they would be willing to offer this if there was enough interest.

Rich the windshield magnets go on the inside. The side windows the magnets go outside. The problem with the top windshield instal is the ceiling panel is lower than the top of the windshield. I had to remove the screws and pull everything back to get the magnets high enough. It's a bit of a hassle but not enough to discourage me from recommending the product. If you look at the inside of the windshield you will see what I mean.
Are you camping this weekend? I asked at the office at Hidden Ridge to see if you were registered but they said they called you and got no answer. You were third on the waiting list.

Phil, on my windshield it looks like I have access to the entire windshield. I got a call from HR after I had booked a site in South Haven, so we're here for the weekend. I called and left them a message. Hope to see you at the rally, if not before....
