Site very slow

Is it just me or is the site running very slowly today? Maybe it is just too many Nathan's hot dogs!! (LOL)

But the site does seem to be running very slowly.

And a note that says it's running a long running script every time you change threads.

No problem here on either the iPad or desktop - AT&T if that makes any difference.

Yes, same message. I spent the better part of the day tuning-up and updating Internet Explorer 8 etc. with no improvement. Finally I downloaded Google Chrome with much relief. I don't know what the script is that runs in IE8 but it totally paralyzed things for me.

Previously I avoided Chrome, and if fact, have been irritated every time it tries to download but I am impressed with the difference. The Forum pages come right up and there is no more waiting while all the ads download.

I hope someone finds out what the scripts are and how to disable them. In the meantime I'm Chrome!

bspickler is onto something, I haven't had any script problems and I am using Google Chrome.

Agree, Chrome works for the forum, but I sure don't like the rest of it. I'll switch back if they ever get IE working.

It must be one of the ads running here, as no other site gives me grief.
There is no way I am going to download google anything on my computer, so I hope someone fixes the issue or gets rid of the ad causing the problems.
It is very frustrating.

It may be your browser that's your problem, if you're using Internet Explorer. I have to use that POS for a couple of sites we use, but the majority of my browsing is with Google Chrome, which is at least 8 time faster than IE.

Bear in mind that I'm back in the Internet dinosaur era, still using Windows XP and IE8, but Chrome works very well for me.

Try Chrome

IE hangs, Chrome does fly just fine. Rogers cable, Windows 8, Chrome
