Will do Steve, I get back home this Wednesday. I'll look for my paperwork and send it to you. PM me your email address.

NEW INFO: I spoke with Isaac in Forest River (he works with Andy/Randy, etc.) They've had problems with the gear box/spindle mechanism and have had to replace many of them. The spindle (see my pix above) is apparently 1/8-inch and what happens is when the gears jam, it shreds like that (the tinsel) to protect the motor. The result is it just spins and spins without doing anything.

Problem is, lots of shredding/jamming on lots of units. The manufacturer has a new spindle that is 3/16-inch, and that is what is on all the newer units shipped. So the question is, do the gears really jam or does the spindle just scramble too soon?

Anyway, they are shipping me a replacement unit (spindle, motor, gear box). I have to pay shipping and installation.

If the slide were out, I would probably be able to do it myself, but because the slide is in, the old one has to be taken off and the slide out moved out to re-install. Too much for one man (or at least this man)!

Good news is Dylan's RV in Southern NJ has an opening for me Aug. 25. The service manager there said they have had so many of these fail that they are starting to stock this as a part. It's a three-hour drive from my house, but they will do the work while I wait, so I should be able to get away with just an overnighter.

So, for the assembly pictured above (3/16 spindle, motor, gearbox), you want FR Part #10F15280A, $175.60.

If you just want to buy the spindle (ie., the Drive Shaft), it is NORCO part #854761. I found that online at trekwood.com. Says it is the 2014 Drive Shaft, $3.88, but this is the 1/8-inch drive shaft, not the newer one!

NORCO says to get the thicker drive shaft, you have to replace the whole unit (ie., spindle, motor gear box, same as FR is sending me). Norco part #225007, but I can't find that on the web anywhere.

More info as I get it. Picture of the replacement from FR attached.

When I was in Goshen at the rally, mine was making a noise. When the tech checked it, he said that there was a series of bad units that are within a range of date codes. Anyone who thinks that they may have a bad motor could email Randy, Andy or Isaac and they should be able to give you the date code range for the bad motors. He just looked at the front of the motor and could tell that mine was within that date code range. I don't think that he had to remove any panels to see the front of the motor and see the date code.
