Tire Covers

Need to ask. Is it really important to cover the tires in the winter months or is it more of a summer , hot sun issue?

I live in the North East, I know I will get them for summer and traveling months, just don't know if they are needed for the winter months. Yes the coach will be outdoors.

Also best brands / places / pricing you've seen, experienced.

I always cover my tires- summer or winter. You still will get the sun on the tires and they protect the tires from the elements as well as the uv from the sun. You should also put the tires on wood or something that will keep them off the cement. I use the Adco covers from Camping World. You should watch for them to go on sale.

Tom do you remember what size cover you bought for the 275 tire size? I'm thinking you must also have that size tire.

It is important to cover your tires at any time.of the year. UV light is extremely damaging to tires and with cause checking (small cracks) in the side walls as the rubber compound becomes increasingly brittle.

Since most of us drive less than 5000 miles per year, tires are very frequently replaced due to checking, rather than tread wear.

À set of tire covers is well worth the very small cost.

They are Adco model no 3949 - Arctic White Bus size(for tires 40-42").

I really like my magneshade.com covers. Easy on/off and let's the wheel show. Most don't even realize my tires are covered!!

Saw them in an advertisement. Maybe I should give them another look before placing order.

Oh and they fold down very small into an included carry tote! All great features but biggest plus for me is enjoying those pretty wheels I paid for! Even the wife makes a comment every time we're walking around the CG and see fully covered wheels!

I use the regular bus wheel covers from camping world in the winter. If you watch their adds they usually run a two for one sale.

In the summer I use these. Cheep and easy to put on and store.

Nathan I bought mine a year ago or so and the elastic didn't last very long. They started to sag and I mentioned it to Roger at the last rally. He said that they had redesigned the straps and he took them to his shop. He shipped them back to me with nice heavy duty cord like a bungee cord but better. No charge of course. I'm very happy with them. If you or anyone else has the flat elastic ribbon type material you might want to contact him.

I like the Adco cover over the Shade Pro. The Adco covers the rim as well and keeps it clean and free from water spots when parked.

Are those bag type Tom? I don't use the bag type because nasty dirty snakes like to hang out in them. I kind like the wheel showing as I think it looks good. These go on and off really easy.

I just removed mine to go home early tomorrow morning. Parked for more than a day, I put them on. Even keep them on my car trailer any time it is parked for more than a day.

I have the Adco bus size for my 275's. They're easy to pop on and off. Fold up nicely and store in a zippered bag they come in. They hide the wheels and keeps them clean and dry. I'm rewarded every time I remove them with how clean and shiny they are.
