Tireon Option for new Berkshire

My RV dealer offers a front tire protection band that keeps a blowout from separating from the RV and allows you to drive 15 or 20 miles after a blowout. The Cost is $2200 but this will be my first class A and don’t know if I should spend the money.
Do you think it is worth the money or just an add-on that inflates the price?
I am pretty sure I will buy the extended warranty since there is so much I do not know on the Berkshire.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

I bought it 5 years ago for my 2013 Berkshire. It sounds great but in hindsight I’m not sure it’s worth it. I’ve never had a blowout so I have no firsthand experience. I did however have to have a tire replaced due to a sidewalk defect. One dealer refused to work on it since it had the Tyron. Another claimed they were familiar with it but refused to use the tool kit provided. Not sure how they replaced the tire. All-in-all I don’t think many places are familiar with it and it causes some concern on the part of tire dealers when it’s time for new tires.

It does sound great, but I wonder the odds. That’s a pretty good bit of money particularly if many shops won’t work on them. It may be just me, but the only time I seem to have problems with something, I’m usually not anywhere near anyplace that has a lot of options for help. Concept does sound tempting though. I wasn’t offered that option so I didn’t have to ponder it thru, and kind of glad in a way. Let us know how you decide and if you’re happy with it.

I had a defective front tire and Goodyear said they couldn't get the tire off because of the front tire protection band. I had to take it to a different shop to have the band's removed. Not wanting this to happen while I'm broke down on the side of the highway. I suggest definitely do not get the bands.

You convinced me. No bands for me. I’ll take My chances.
Thank you for your advice

I was traveling between Houston and San Antonio (very busy highway) on a Friday afternoon before a 3 day weekend.

Traffic zooming by.

Trucks zooming by.

Gasoline tanker zooms by.

Left front tire blows.

Regained control half way into the left lane.

Just lucky no cars were tailgating the tanker.

Even luckier the tanker had fully cleared in front of me.

(Tires were brand new RV "Special")

Buy the safety plus instead. Lazy days might be able to install it too. Less than half the cost of the tire on.

Agree,

Buy the Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer. Go on line and watch the videos.

Great for wind and overall general driving too.
