All that typing and the answer is yes go with your plan.

Thanks Phil!

I also use EEZ tpms for my TT and so far have been very pleased with them. I do not believe you need a repeater until you exceed 53' from the sensors to the receiver. Another plus to this brand is it also gives you tire temperature.

All of the TPMS I have looked at have tire temps as a feature. I would not own one without that feature.

We currently have the EEZ RV tpms system (12 tire) ....works great! I find it hard to believe they are not standard equipment on ANY motorhome. We needed the repeater due to the length of our coach....not too difficult to install and customer service was very helpful. Money well spent!

I use cat eyes they connect the two rear tires. They equalize the air pressure between the tires if one loses to much pressure it will close the one vavle down. Whats nice is you can see the gage if it's losing air with a simple walk around

I have a 41 ft and don't need a repeater but I don't monitor the toad. Never had any issues with rear tire
signals.

Please note that the TST507 is actually the newer model of the TST510. Also, on the repeater, I went a little different path. For about $10, I bought a 120V-AC to 12V-DC converter, plugged it in behind the bedroom TV and hooked the repeater to it in that same cabinet. I know some folks will tell you the repeater is not needed until you hit 53', but you gave to factor in the mass of the coach between the receiver and the toad, etc. in my case, with a roughly 40' coach, a couple of the toad sensors were dropping off, so I added the repeater.

I've got a Tire-Safeguard brand. Had it for 4 or 5 years. Dependable and no repeater need for toad.

TPMS for Berkshire or similar sized motor homes

To close this loop as the OP, I got the TST 507 (I think, flow through, end user serviceable batteries) for the coach and the toad, which in my case is comprised of 2 car dolly tires and the 2 rear tires on the towed vehicle that remain on the road. So far, I have not needed to use the repeater; although, I bought one just in case.

While I'm now more confident that I'll know of a low tire pressure/high heat condition while driving, what I really like is the ability to switch the unit on when I start the coach up and check the cold pressures from the driver's seat without running around with a gauge. I think I speak for us all when I say there's a lot to check before setting off after camping, and this system shortens that list while addressing an important area.

Thanks to all for your input.

I have the EEZ with 10 tires total (incl. my toad - CRV). Works like a champ...have had it for over a year. It was just out after 5 months in winter storage and all worked just fine on startup. Highly recommend them. I've spoken with their people prior to purchasing and they were/are awesome...great folks. I didn't have any dead senders, but it can happen...they will get replacements right out if you need one.

Personally I prefer and bought external TPMS with Lifetime warranty and with early warning "rapid air loss" feature that warns when your pressure drops quickly from the hot pressure and does not wait till you are 15% below the cold set temperature as I believe some systems do. At that point you may have already damaged the leaking tire.

For those that don't Monitor the toad I had a issue over the winter where my braking system in the toad applied the brakes. I only noticed it because the temp on the tires went up and sounded the alarm. I stopped ASAP and disabled the brake but damage was done. That fast new pads and rotors on a new car. Without the TPMS on the toad I have no doubt it would have caught fire.

I know I would be awfully worried if I had to leave without my tire monitoring system.
Modern technology is great for making things safer than they have been in the past.

TPMS is a no brainer. Should come standard on all motorhomes with an option to add for the toad.

Not really. It wasn't the system I usually us. It was a RV1 that I borrowed from a friend. It works just fine on his. We tested it several times.
