Water on floor under fridge

I have a 2011 390 bh and out on our first trip of the season. Just unwinterized and I notice water pooling on the floor under the fridge. I had issues with the ice maker last year but I turned that off. Not sure what is in the vent area and where the water is coming from. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Did you drain all of the water out of the ice maker line when you winterized? A couple years ago, I winterized my ice maker by running pink stuff all the way through. The solenoid ( cheap piece of junk plastic housing ) housing froze anyway and split open. I purchased a new solenoid, but when I installed it, I left the water line off of it and closed it off with a valve. I never use the ice maker anyway.

Not sure if all water was drained. The valve is shut off but water is still leaking. Removing the vent cover to explore.

Can you tell me where the solenoid is and how is it changed?

Dometic looked at it at the rally last year and I turned off the water to the ice maker. Back on the list again for this years rally.

What is a solenoid? I removed the vent cover and cannot trace where it is leaking. It is dripping down but no tubes there?

I have a residential fridge and the solenoid was at the bottom right side as you look at the fridge from the rear.

A solenoid is an electrical unit that feeds the ice maker when a signal is sent to fill with water. Maybe the Dometic doesn't use one, but there would have to be something inline to tell the water to shut off until it needs the tray to be filled again.

It would look like a small box with an electrical connection attached to it and a water line in and out of it.

Will look for it in the morning. Just checked outside and there is no water in the line out there so it must be leaking from bathroom line. The leak has slowed down but still dripping. I have done all I could. Thanks again.

I have the dometic 4 door that runs on propane or electric

On our dometic, water shut off under bathroom sink, solnoid is reached from outside hatch with clear water line going to it.

Don't know how yours if but in my water compartment I have a shut off for the ice maker. We never use the ice maker so I shut it off. Then just above the shut I disconnect the line going to the ice maker. Thus allowing any water in the line to drain back. Also easy to know that it is shut off good. I have a 2014. 390 FL

I think when a 'residential' refrigerator is being discussed, that it must be clearly stated that it is either a Dometic or a Whirlpool. When the refrigerator is described as a 'residential refrigerator', clearly there is a big difference between the two and they have nothing in common.

Mine is not residential. I shut off the cold water to the bathroom sink in the outside water compartment until I can get it fixed.

Last year, I had the identical problem with my Frigidaire residential sized refer. To my amazement, it was the internal removable filter inside the fresh food compartment! I didn't think to drain it during winterization. You guessed it - During the winter, the water inside froze and it split the sides of the filter wide open. A day or so after hooking up to city water in the Spring, I noticed water running from under the refer. The filter was leaking steadily! I hope this helps.

I just had to give our unfortunate story here. We had the same problem in our Charleston. We saw water dripping under the slide that holds the refrigerator. I took it in for repair and was told it was the overflow from defrosting the fridge, I let it go until a day or so later when I realized we had never defrosted the fridge. The unit was new. So I made another appt but a roaming repair guy came through the park and fixed it for me. It was two tiny leaks where someone had put brass fittings on the plastic water hose and they cut right through the hose. It took so long to find and fix the problem that we have quite a bit of water damage now in that slide.

Please tell me the factory does not install brass fittings on plastic hoses...anyone?

I too never used mine, but still paid dearly. These babies are difficult to winterize with ice-makers. I paid the price with water everywhere too. Finally, after the 8 hour repair. Had to remove the washer and dryer to get to the back of the fridge and the wall enclosure was put on after they installed the appliances, so I had to tear that out too. I better stop here, because it was actually a lot worse than that and it was a day to forget. Back on point here. To winterize the ice maker I hooked up the air line and allowed the fridge to try to make ice. When if tries to make ice (send an electrical signal to the solenoid) the air will push the water up the tube into the ice maker. Keep this going for 12 hours. You will get some tiny ice cubes. No where in FR's videos etc. do they mention this. The solenoid is at the base of the fridge as stated and will fill with water from the long tube to the ice maker. It will have water in the tube/solenoid valve body even if you did not use the ice maker, then it breaks at around 25 deg. F. The solenoids are fairly cheap and easy to repair, however. That is if it is easily accessible.

Disconnect the water supply to your ice maker. It should be located under your kitchen sink. You may have a pinhole leak in the supply tubing. Good luck.
