Windshield Sunscreen

My RV site faces due south and I am looking into a exterior windshield screen to reduce glare and mainly heat from the sun. Other than Magna Shade most require snaps to be screwed into the coach [may be okay but I really don't like that idea much]. One other company uses aluminum rods, straps and suction cups. So my question is what is everyone using and how well does it cut the heat transmission thru the windshield?

I would go with Magna Shades.
They attach with magnets and not snaps.
They are pricey but worth it if you want something that is easy to attach and remove.

I had the product from Promt that uses the suction cups. Nothing wrong with it but I found I still had to get the ladder out to get it tight. I have a bad back and didn't want to do the ladder every time we moved. I now have the Magna Shade and it goes on without needing a ladder. In my opinion both are good products from quality manufacturers and should provide the same protection.

I also purchased Magnashades for the front of my MH. They work great and are easy to install.

Check out RV Quick Shades they mount on the inside with suction cups. I went on ebay and got larger suction cups than what comes with the shade. Very easy to put up and take down and vision thru windshield is not lost while heat is drastically reduced.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Looks like Magna Shade is the winner - I have a bad back too and would love to minimize the ladder time.

Roger Hunkler is the owner and the customer service is excellent. It's a family run business. I can put my shades up in two minutes. Super easy. I would recommend getting the driver side window also.

I looked at their web site. It looks like it fits pretty tight to the windshield. I would love to test one.

Also have magne shade that I bought last year. Very nice, quality product. Just haven't installed it yet.

We also have the MagneShade. We love ours. Knocks out a lot of the heat. We have a full set. Front, drivers side, passengers side. This is second dp we have used MagneShade on.

I have a black shade I'll sell you that I had in our 2007 Monaco diesel motorcoach that we no longer have. It slides into a two piece plastic track that is taped with double sided tape to the inside on the windshield along the top of the windshield. It's about 8 feet long by about 4 feet high. Fit the a big one piece Monaco windshield.

These are usually cut to fit a particular windshield. I don't think the size would be to same.

Just trying to save you some money.
It wasn't used that much.
I could measure it if your interested.
Also it could be trimmed down.

I have one. I only wanted to point out that they all all custom fit and are not usually interchangeable. Good luck selling your. You might try IRV2 or maybe a Monaco forum to catch the right brand.

Does anybody remember the measurements they sent in or verified for the MagneShades?

Thank you jcowles3, yes they sent me the measurements and asked me to verify them. Apparently I'm not really good at this, so far I have two different numbers. Today I'm going to try again and see if I can get a third set of numbers. Thanks again

X2 Roger is good folks and you simply cannot go wrong with a Magne Shade.

Like Phil said, I would recommend the Driver side window and even the coach door shade as well.

Your back will appreciate installation - as Phil says: super easy and fast to put up. I think it takes me @ 6 min total to put the windshield, both side windows, windshield wiper & rear view mirror covers on.

(Added benefit of the magneshade if you are parked long term is it drastically cuts down on the UV exposure.)
