Good job. It's sad to think about putting them away with weather like this. Snow is coming soon.

Don't forget the oil and filter on the Berkshire engine. Should be done every year no mater the mileage. Not good to let old oil sit in engine for the winter as it turns acidic during use. I did the Berk engine and Generator myself today. Currently draining the fresh water tank. Through that 1/2 inch line should not take more that two days

Silver, got that done at the oasis dealer. Oil/filter/fuel filter/water separator/lube and 37 point inspection....$214 out the door. Couldn't pass it up for that price.
Phil, I can see that grin from here Sad time of year to put away my baby! Couple more years and I'll be able to go south.

Ĺiving in Alberta, proper winterization is extremely important.

Having burst lines in the past, I tend to err on the safe side.

I start the process by blowing all of the lines with my compressor. I have made a small brass fitting that consists of an airline quick connect, a ball valve and a male hose connect.

I connect my adapter to the city water inlet and to my compressor. With all taps closed I pressure up the system. One by one I open one outlet at a time.

I start with each of the two low point drains in the wet bay. Next the outside shower, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, toilet, toilet hand spray, shower, washing machine, drain behind water heater. Repeat all twice.

I then run antifreeze thru all lines as above. Making sure to fill each trap with antifreeze.

Once this is complete I blow all lines clear. This final.stage ensure that you do not have excess antifreeze taste in the spring.

Prior to doing any of this it is important to remove filter from canister.

This may seem like overkill but the entire process only takes about 30 minutes

Lefaivre,

I liked your explanation as I still need to winterize mine. Although when I got to the statement above I'm a little confused and need to clarify.

Do you do this step directly after putting the antifreeze in ?
Or is this step done in the spring when dewinterizing ?

I purge with air, fill with antifreeze and drain antifreeze all before storing for the winter.

I have found in the past that leaving antifreeze in the lines all winter leaves a residue that can sometimes last much of the summer.

Once the antifreeze has filled the lines ... it has done it's job. No need to leave it in the pipes.

Interesting idea.

Haven't winterized mine yet and will be the first time doing so. I would be interested in hearing other opinions on this matter.

If you are blowing out lines etc you are getting all the water out you don't need AF. Only put it in the traps and toilets.

X2 to that, I have been doing that for years. I however do inject a little antifreeze into the water pump and its line which merges with the city water, which doesn't get blown out.

Can someone tell me if there's a main drain to get the water out of the fresh water tank ? Or does it have to get pumped out from water pump ? Can you tilt the coach to one side by using just two jacks on either side ?
