XLT 43A 2016. Bedroom slide motor. Wires burnt can the slide be manually operated ?
New 2016 XLT43A. Bedroom slide motor wires burned. Dealer will replace but would like to know how to manually extend if possible.
Also any hints on how to easily replace. Very tight fit under bed even with front cover board off.
The only way I know of is loosen the motor bolts and drop it down enough to disengage the teeth and then PUSH!!!
If you need to drive the RV you will need to use a piece of 2 by 4 and jam the slide closed so it can't come out while driving.
Don't know why wires burned. Poor installation or factory defect I suppose. Waiting on new motor. Any idea on how to manually move the slide out? Currently it is in and would like more room while waiting on motor replacement
Replacing the motor may or may not fix the problem. Did the circuit protection work? Not enough to stop this from happening, it is not supposed to. I would want some serious answers to serious questions from whomever makes the repairs. "Supposing" is not enough.
A lot of burnt Moho's came from burnt wires.

I can not believe they have not changed the power design on this slide. I have a 2014 390bh and have been pushing my bedroom slide in and out for almost 9 months now. New motor was expensive and I would have the same problem with it not engaging. I stripped the screws tightening this one and it was damaged by me trying to wedge it up so it would engage.
My 2008 has the same motor, in my case the mounting ears on the motor housing failed. The part is exclusive to the slide manufacturer and cannot be bought from the motor manufacturer. This design (at least in my coach) has no limit switch so the slide can be fully extended or retracted and the motor can still be running. Could your motor have overheated because the power stayed on too long?
Like mikeborny I pushed and shoved the thing all last winter, finally bit the bullet and had the unit repaired. Saved the old motor and housing. Notice the housing and how the mounting ears failed.
GOOD LUCK
