I'll bite, why does your 12v fridge blow a fuse? Are you angering it? (Sorry, I couldn't resist).
Fuses blow for only one reason, too much current draw. Is this a new problem, or has it always done this?
A couple of things to check off the top:
- how strong is your battery? If your voltage is dropping too much the fridge draws more power and can trip off the fuse.
- how heavy is the wiring back to the battery. The fridge does still draw a fair bit of current, and requires some pretty heavy wire. Mine is 30' away from the battery, so has a separate heavy gauge wire direct to the battery. If your wiring is too small, current (and heat) will rise and blow a breaker.
- If this is a new problem, and it was working well previously, there is possibly an electrical issue with either the control board or compressor. You can also check the fridge access panel to see if any critters have been lunching on the wires.
Post back with a little more information about when this happens and if there are any common triggers.
