12v refrigerator problem

2022 XLR MICRO BOOST 335LRLE with solar.
Last week we opened our camper to get ready for the weekend and noticed that the refrigerator was not cold. Spoiled some food in the freezer, not a big deal. Plugged the camper in to shore power and fridge came on and cooled down. Camped for the weekend and everything was fine. Unplugged from shore power and came back to check on things 2 days later and noticed that the fridge isn't working on solar. Solar readout shows full charge on battery.

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Appliances and Electronics sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to Appliances and not general questions.

I should add that it's a furion refrigerator. It sat from Memorial day weekend until father's day weekend and stayed cold on just the solar.

After further research, I'm leaning towards the power inverter. Going to run so.e tests Thursday afternoon.

For a 12 volt device? I thought the inverter is for changing the 12V to 120V?

If you have a Furrion 12VDC compressor fridge, then an inverter isn't involved. It runs directly on 12V battery power. Does anything else that uses 12V (such as lights) work when you're not on shore power? I ask because your problem sounds like the battery disconnect switch is Off. Solar is connected directly to the battery, so it would still show a full battery while the switch is Off, but your 12V systems would only work when 12V is being supplied by your converter from shore power.

what Jlankford said +

disconnect switch may be BAD I had to wiggle mine to get it to work
replaced it and put it inside out of the weather

caould also be a 12v breaker near the battery
they got tiny buttons to push for reset.

On A side note. The refrigerator light comes on but the fridge is warm. I will be checking if the lights in the camper are working.

Had just the opposite problem with our furrion, fridge would not shut off Might possibly be related.

Did the normal internet search and found someone else experienced this. Replaced the On/Off/thermostat control switch and all is well. They sure use cheap switches and controllers on RV stuff.

Thanks for getting back to us Burdawg. The 12v fridges are pretty power thirsty, and solar only goes so far in keeping the fridge cold till it starts eating into battery. How big are your battery and solar banks?

If you list battery size, solar collector size and the fridge model number we can give you an idea of how long you can not plug into shore power.

The average rv is likely to be iffy for one night. The dealer should have explained that.
