2014 Georgetown 351ds tv antenna question
I can only get one channel during the search on both tv's. I have attached a photo of the antenna on the top of the RV. Is this the stock antenna? And has anyone had any luck changing this omni directional to a newer model?
Thanks
Mike

We will assume your antenna booster is ON. Right?

Yes, booster is on. I get two channels in HD, nothing else. I am only 30 minutes from Toronto so I figure I should get lots?

Mike.....
The RV industry changes antennae designs from the assembly line like (most) people change socks.
That said......only another original owner of a like model to yours knows for sure if that is the original antennae for your 2014 model.
I’m quite familiar with the Toronto area. If you give me your major intersections closest to where you’re trying to test for channels, I can run a program and let you know what signals you SHOULD get if all the connections are good.

Thank you Ken. We live in Brooklin, which is north of Whitby. Closest intersection is Thickson and Columbus Rd.
Does this help?

Really close friend of mine used to live on Cachet, South of Carnwith .....and further to Columbus.
Stand by and I’ll try to send you a picture of where your strongest channels are. If the houses around you are taller than your rooftop antennae, that could be blocking some of the signals.

Mike......
I used Pinecone Park for a reference point.
Even though you’re not far outside Toronto, you’ll see by this map, the two closest TV towers are an analog station for CHEX in Mitchell’s Corner (SE of you)
and CITY-TV in Toronto (probably off CN Tower)
We live in Prince Edward County South of Trenton, but have clear access over Lake Ontario, and East and West along the shoreline.
We can get easily 30-40 channels because we’re away from built up areas.

Thanks for the information Ken. Maybe it is working as best as possible for where I am right now. We are at Ferris park for Friday night so will try there to see if much difference.

We’ve been at Ferris. You’re not really close to many antennas there, and there’s lots of trees, and you may be in a valley. See attached map.
Friends of ours and myself are camping at our place this coming weekend in Prince Edward County....less than an hour due South of you at Ferris, and it’ll be interest how we all compare being in the exact same location with a variety of TVs and antennas.
If you know how to Private Message....we could trade phone numbers.
Happy Canada Day weekend camping.

Just got back from 3 nights. 1 at ferris. Great campground! Zero channels on tv there. Went to friends on the otonabee south of Peterborough and got one channel. Global. I guess the question is would a newer style antenna or different style be any different?
