Looking on upgrading the front speakers for better sound. I have a loft bed so speakers are mounted in the side wall about driver and passenger. Can't seem to see how the built in grill cover/cloth comes off or if it is a tear out to get to the speakers. Any help greatly appreciated.
OK - after no success, I finally put a screw into the face of the speaker grill and was able to pull the cover off. Seems it is adhered with some sort of silicone sealer. It did slightly damage the cloth on the front but I feel I can repair and make it not so noticeable. Due to the slight depth provided for the speaker, must be a thin-mount speaker which does not provide the best sound. Had to replace the wood mount on right side as it was trashed during manufacturer installation. I have removed the buzz and had to adjust the EQ to get a decent sound. Was it worth it? 50/50 on that. Have not had it on the road to hear the sound with the road noise.
Quick note. If you are able to come out from the wall an inch or so you can use scoche trim rings to mount a bigger deeper speaker. I did my ceiling that way and a thread with pics is here if you search for Polk speakers.
