2017 Cedar Creek Champagne- ice maker

I learned today that even though my new fifth wheel is only a few months old, the residential Whirlpool refrigerator is not covered by Forest River! I had to locate a service tech to replace the icemaker and then I have to deal with Whirpool direct. I wonder if this "passing the buck" applies to everything in the RV? Maybe that is why their owner's packet is very vague and full of nothing but the manufacturers' brochures, install manuals, etc. What does Forest River cover?
Love the RV but I would have thought that they would have their own coverage on everything, at least for a year. Anyway, we have a new ice maker on its way.
One other problem with the residential fridge.... we have ice forming under the double doors, above the freezer drawer. We have to chip the ice off before the little gravity light switch operates. Anyone else experience this problem with their Whirlpool residential fridge?
