OK, this is a typical symptom of low refrigerant. Of course, you will see over and over that it is a sealed unit and can not be repaired. That simply means there are no service ports installed from the factory. That in my mind is B S!
A certified (required by law) HVAC tech can cut the low-pressure line, install a Schrader valve, evacuate the system, and recharge it with the correct type and amount of refrigerant. At the same time, he MUST install a special a/c stop leak for a unit under 1 ton. The item I purchased via Amazon cost about $30. The sealant is installed at the same time the system is being charged.
The total cost for my project, serviced at our residence was under $200. That was 3 or 4 years ago. Today, the supply air temperature (60 degrees F) is some 20 degrees cooler than the return air temperature (80 degrees F). That is the way the systems work.
