36ckts tailgater

This past weekend I tried to connect our tailgater directly into our 36CKTS. I plugged the satellite into the Living room connection in the water line cabinet. I then connected my receiver into the satellite connection in the cabinet door by the LR TV.
I was unable to get it to connect to the satellite and was only successful after directly connecting it to the satellite.

Is this not possible or am I just doing it wrong? Trying to buy some time before purchasing the traveler.

If it works right when directly interconnected what makes you think a traveler would be better with what you have for hookup? It would appear the coax you selected for the receiver is not the right one or there might be a splitter in that line and don't think a traveler will help without modification. Of course the modification would also allow the tailgater to work if there was one.

It's pre-wired for the traveler, to use the tailgater I have to run the coax through a window. I'm hoping there's a way to connect the tailgater without using a window.

I would check out the other outlets. The Amish build these campers. I found on my Cedar Creek that some of the tv outlets were hooked up wrong, you know the Tailgator works hooked up straight so it's just a matter of finding the right ones. You can ohm it out with a ohmmeter but not me I'm a little slow with those things
